It works best with self-contained HTML. Because a PDF is paginated and fixed-width while web pages are fluid and often pull in external fonts, stylesheets, and dynamically-loaded content, the cleanest conversions come from HTML whose styling is inline or embedded rather than linked externally. Complex, resource-dependent layouts may render differently than in a browser.
It's distinct from your browser's 'Print to PDF', which captures a live page you're viewing including its external resources, useful in its own right. This tool converts an HTML file you provide, which suits templates, reports, and saved markup.
On privacy, the two ways in work differently. An HTML file you upload, or markup you paste, is converted entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. Converting a URL cannot work that way: the address you enter is sent to ToolsMonk's own server so it can fetch or render that public page for you, which also means the site sees a request from us rather than from you.
