Terms of Service

By accessing, browsing, or using ToolsMonk, also written Tools Monk ("the Platform," "the Website"), located at toolsmonk.com and operated by ToolsMonk Labs LLP ("we," "us," or "our"), you ("User," "you," or "your") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ToolsMonk Labs LLP.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform. Your continued use of ToolsMonk after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use ToolsMonk, regardless of whether they use free tools, make donations, or interact with any other feature of the Platform.

ToolsMonk is a free online utility platform that provides browser-based tools across multiple categories, including but not limited to: PDF converters, image editors, SEO analysis tools, developer utilities, text processors, business and finance calculators, student tools, color tools, security utilities, and more.

Key characteristics of our service:

• All tools are provided free of charge with no mandatory registration or account creation
• For most tools, processing happens locally in your browser and your files are not uploaded to our servers. A minority of tools do need to send your input to our servers or to a third-party provider in order to work; each of them is named, with what it sends and to whom, in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy
• The Platform is accessible worldwide via standard web browsers on desktop and mobile devices
• We may add, modify, or discontinue tools and features at any time without prior notice
• Tool availability and functionality may vary depending on your browser, device, and internet connection

When using ToolsMonk, you agree to the following responsibilities and usage guidelines:

3.1 You agree to:

• Use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations
• Provide accurate information when submitting contact forms, feedback, or donation payments
• Use the tools as intended for their described purpose
• Respect the intellectual property rights of ToolsMonk and third parties

3.3 If you create an account

An account is optional and no tool requires one. If you do create one, these terms apply to it:

• You must be 18 or older to create an account, and you confirm this when you sign up. Anyone younger can use every tool without an account. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 treats anyone under 18 as a child.
• You are responsible for keeping your password and, if you enable it, your authenticator device and recovery codes secure. Activity carried out through your signed-in session is treated as yours.
• Two-factor authentication is available on every account and we recommend enabling it. Your Security screen also lists every device signed in to your account and lets you sign any of them out.
• If you believe someone else has access to your account, sign out the other devices and change your password, then tell us at support@toolsmonk.com so we can check the security record.
• Do not share an account, sell access to one, or create accounts by automated means.
• Sign-in attempts are rate limited and repeated failures temporarily block further attempts for that address. Deliberately trying to trigger or evade that protection is a breach of these Terms.
• Accounts that can reach our administration panel are separated by role, and each role is limited to the areas it needs. Attempting to reach an area your role does not permit, whether through the interface or by requesting an address directly, is unauthorised access under Section 3.2.
• Secure Cloud Storage is an allowance attached to your account, available to it from the moment you sign in and currently 100 MB in total with a ceiling of 50 MB on any single file and a limit of 200 files. Treat it as a shared resource on a single server rather than as an entitlement: it exists so that you can carry your own work between your own devices. Do not use it as bulk or general-purpose file hosting, as a distribution or file-sharing channel, or to store material unrelated to your use of the tools, and do not create additional accounts, share an account, or use automated means in order to obtain more of it.
• We may change the allowance, the per-file ceiling or the file limit at any time, and we may refuse an upload, or reclaim space, where the feature is being used in a way that threatens the service for everyone else. Uploads are also rate limited, and deliberately trying to trigger or evade that protection is a breach of these Terms in the same way that doing it to the sign-in form is.

3.2 You agree NOT to:

• Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or similar technologies to access, scrape, or crawl the Platform without our express written permission
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of our tools beyond what is publicly available
• Upload, process, publish, share or store through ToolsMonk any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive or defamatory, or that: belongs to another person and you have no right to; is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, or invades another person's privacy, including bodily privacy; insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender, or is racially or ethnically objectionable; relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling; is harmful to children; infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right; deceives or misleads anyone about where a message came from, or knowingly passes on information that is false or misleading; impersonates another person; threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries or public order, or incites any offence; contains a virus or other code designed to damage or interfere with any computer resource; or breaks any law in force
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, systems, or other users' data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure, including DDoS attacks, SQL injection, or other security exploits
• Impersonate ToolsMonk, its operators, or other users
• Use the Platform for any commercial purpose without explicit authorization, including reselling tool access or creating derivative products
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright notices, trademarks, or other proprietary notices on the Platform

3.4 Reporting content, and how we act on it

A few parts of ToolsMonk show content that someone else wrote or chose: published tool reviews, a document someone shared with you by link, a reel shared with you, and AI output. If you think any of it breaks Section 3.2 or the law, or infringes your rights, tell us:

• Write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@toolsmonk.com, with the page address or link and what is wrong with it. AI output can also be reported with the Report button next to it.
• We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. A complaint that content shows you, or someone you act for, in a sexual act or nude, or impersonates you, is acted on within 24 hours of receiving it.
• Content we are ordered to remove by a court, or by an authorised agency of the Government of India, is removed or disabled within 36 hours of the order.
• Where we remove content, or end the access of someone who posted it, we tell the person who posted it why, where we can reach them and the law allows it.
• Repeated or serious breaches of Section 3.2 can lead to the account being suspended or closed under Section 8.

4.1 ToolsMonk's Intellectual Property

All content on ToolsMonk, including but not limited to the website design, layout, graphics, logos, icons, tool interfaces, code, text, and documentation, is the intellectual property of ToolsMonk or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

4.2 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all files, data, text, images, and other content you process through ToolsMonk's tools or store with us. We claim no ownership of it, and we acquire no right to publish it, share it, sell it, reuse it, or use it to train or evaluate any model. Where a tool must send your input to our servers or to a third-party provider to produce a result (see Section 3 of our Privacy Policy), we use it only to generate that result and for no other purpose. Content you merely process through a tool grants us nothing whatsoever.

• There is one narrow exception, and we would rather write a small licence down than pretend that none is needed. Keeping a file for you and handing it back later means copying it, encrypting it, writing it to a disk and transmitting it to you, and those are acts that need your permission. A storage feature running under a term that grants literally nothing is not a generous term; it is one that neither of us could rely on.
• So if, and only if, you save a file into Secure Cloud Storage, you grant ToolsMonk a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store that file, to encrypt it, to make the copies that storing and serving it require, and to transmit it back to you, for the single purpose of operating that feature for your own account.
• That licence carries no other permission of any kind. It does not allow us to publish your file, share it, make it available to another user, sublicense it, sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train or evaluate a model. It does not allow us to alter what you stored, beyond the encryption the feature applies. Files in Secure Cloud Storage cannot be shared and have no public link, so there is nothing here for you to opt out of. The one thing in the product that can be shared with another person is a reel you choose to share, which the next point covers.
• If you turn on Collaborate for a reel in the Android app, you grant ToolsMonk the same kind of licence for that reel and the media in it: to store it, encrypt it, make the copies that storing and serving it require, and transmit it to you and to the ToolsMonk users you invite, for the single purpose of letting you edit it together. You confirm that you have the right to share that media with them. People you invite can change the reel and add media to it, and what they add stays in your reel if they leave. The licence ends when you stop sharing the reel, delete it, or your account is deleted. Section 3.7 of our Privacy Policy describes how a shared reel is handled.
• It ends when the content does. Deleting a stored file, or the deletion of your account under Section 8, terminates the licence for that content immediately, and no part of it survives afterwards. It is not perpetual and it is not irrevocable, and it does not extend to anything you have not chosen to store.
• Nothing in this section changes what Section 3.6 of our Privacy Policy says about how a stored file is handled, including that it is encrypted with a key we hold and that we can therefore technically read it. This paragraph is about the rights involved; that one is about the facts.

4.3 Feedback and Suggestions

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about ToolsMonk, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback into the Platform without any obligation of compensation or attribution.

ToolsMonk may accept voluntary donations from users who wish to support the ongoing development and maintenance of the Platform.

• All donations are entirely voluntary and do not grant access to additional features, tools, or premium services
• Donations are non-refundable unless required by applicable law or in cases of processing error
• Payment processing is handled by PayPal or Razorpay. ToolsMonk does not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details, though we do keep a record of the donation itself
• Donation amounts and frequency are entirely at your discretion
• ToolsMonk reserves the right to modify or discontinue its donation program at any time

6.1 "As Is" Basis

ToolsMonk and all its tools, features, and content are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind.

6.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that:

• The Platform will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free
• Results obtained from using the tools will be accurate, reliable, or suitable for any specific purpose
• Defects in the Platform will be corrected within any specific timeframe
• The Platform is free of viruses, malware, or other harmful components
• That files you store with Secure Cloud Storage will remain available, intact, or recoverable. It is convenience storage, provided so that you can continue work on another device; it is NOT a backup service. We keep one copy in one place, we do not replicate or archive it, and there is nothing to restore from if a file is lost, corrupted, or deleted, whether by you, by us, or by a fault. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
• That the storage allowance, the per-file ceiling, or the file limit will stay where they are today, or that the feature will continue to be offered at all. Section 3.3 sets out what we may change and why.

6.3 Limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ToolsMonk shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any right you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ToolsMonk from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from or relating to:

• Your use of or access to the Platform
• Your violation of these Terms of Service
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights
• Any content you process through the Platform
• Any harmful or unlawful activity conducted through your use of the Platform

If you use ToolsMonk as a consumer, this section applies only as far as the law of the country where you live allows.

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to ToolsMonk at any time. Reasons for termination may include:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Engaging in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activities
• Excessive automated use that impacts Platform performance for other users
• Legal or regulatory requirements

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease.

Where an account is involved, termination or suspension takes effect by ending its sign-in sessions, which stops every signed-in device at once rather than waiting for a token to expire. Separately, and for ordinary security reasons rather than as a penalty, sessions have a maximum lifetime and may be ended after a long period of inactivity; being signed out for either of those reasons is not a suspension and you can simply sign in again.

What happens to files stored with Secure Cloud Storage

Ending an account ends the storage attached to it, so this needs to be stated rather than left to be discovered.

• If you want your account closed, ask for it at toolsmonk.com/account/delete. You confirm on that page that you understand what will be removed, and a member of our team then carries the deletion out; you can withdraw the request at any time until they do. It is a request rather than an instant button for two reasons: the deletion cannot be reversed, and somebody who had got into your account should not be able to destroy your files with it before you noticed. Closing an account deletes the files stored under it along with the account itself, and that cannot be reversed, so use Export all on your storage page to download everything you want to keep first. You can also delete individual stored files yourself at any time, without closing anything, from that same page.
• If we terminate or suspend an account for a breach of these Terms, we will, unless the law or the nature of the breach prevents it, write to the email address on the account and give you at least 30 days from that notice to retrieve whatever you want to keep. Be aware that a suspension blocks sign-in, so where that is the case the files cannot be reached from the site itself and you should reply to that email to arrange a copy. After that period the stored files are deleted permanently.
• Where a suspension is precautionary rather than final, we will restore access to your files if the account is reinstated, provided that the 30 days above have not already passed.
• In every one of these cases, deletion is final. Secure Cloud Storage keeps no second copy, nothing is archived, and Section 6.2 applies: once the files are gone there is nothing left for us to restore, however the account ended.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.

ToolsMonk reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
