Most ToolsMonk tools process data locally in your browser. However:

• Processing is subject to your device's capabilities and browser limitations
• Extremely large files may not process correctly
• Different browsers may produce slightly different results
• ToolsMonk is not responsible for any data loss during processing
• Clearing your browser cache or site data will remove work the tools saved on your device, including editor autosaves and saved drafts
• Files you have chosen to save with Secure Cloud Storage are the exception to the line above: they are held on our servers rather than on your device, which is what lets them survive a cleared cache, and they are covered by the paragraphs below rather than by it

A minority of tools need to send your input to our servers, or to a third-party provider such as Google, in order to work at all. Those tools are named individually, along with what they send and who receives it, in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy. We aim to make this clear on the tool's own page as well, but the Privacy Policy is the authoritative list; please check it before using a tool with confidential material.

Secure Cloud Storage is a different case again, and the description above of tools that "need a server in order to work at all" does not cover it, so it is set out separately here. Nothing is being processed: it is an optional file store attached to an account, it stays switched off until you turn it on yourself, and when you save a file to it you are deliberately asking us to keep a copy on our servers so that you can open it again from another device. It is described in full in Section 3.6 of our Privacy Policy, including the fact that stored files are encrypted with a key we hold, which means we can technically read them. If you never enable it, nothing you use on ToolsMonk is stored by us.

What Secure Cloud Storage is not is a backup. Files saved to it are held as a single copy, in one place, on one server. We do not keep a second copy, we do not archive files you delete, and we do not replicate them to another provider, so a file stored there is exactly as safe as one place can be and no safer. Treat it as somewhere convenient to leave work in progress and to pick it up elsewhere, never as the only copy of your work. A file you cannot afford to lose should also exist on your own device, or in a service you actually use for backups. Section 7 returns to this point, and Section 6.2 of our Terms of Service states it as a term.

When a tool fails, we record a technical description of the failure so that we can fix it. That record describes the fault, not your work: it holds the error message and the code path it came from, plus coarse facts such as your browser and whether the file was unusually large. Filenames are reduced to their file type before storage, and the contents of your file are never included. This is explained in full in Section 5.6 of our Privacy Policy. It does not amount to a backup, and it will not help us recover work you have lost.

While we strive for 99.9% uptime, service may be unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance
• Server or infrastructure issues
• Internet connectivity problems
• Browser compatibility issues
• Force majeure events
• CDN or third-party outages

ToolsMonk shall not be liable for damages resulting from temporary service unavailability.

We do monitor the platform in real time so that an outage or a broken tool is noticed while it is happening, and we record tool failures so they can be fixed. Neither of those is a guarantee. Monitoring tells us something has gone wrong; it does not prevent it, does not commit us to any particular response time, and does not change the 99.9% figure above from an aim into a promise.

You are solely responsible for all content processed through ToolsMonk. ToolsMonk does not:

• Monitor or approve content processed through its tools
• Accept responsibility for illegal or harmful content processed by users
• Guarantee that outputs will not infringe third-party rights
• Provide backup or recovery services

One line in that list deserves a plain explanation now that files can be stored with us, because at first glance the two sit oddly together on the same page. Secure Cloud Storage does store your files, and ToolsMonk still does not provide backup or recovery services. The difference is what each of those words promises. A backup service keeps additional, independent copies of your data specifically so that it can be restored after something goes wrong, and it is judged on that promise. Secure Cloud Storage keeps one copy, in one place, so that you can reach your own work from another device. We do not replicate it, we do not snapshot it, we do not archive files you have deleted, and there is nothing for us to restore from if a file is lost, corrupted, or deleted, by you or by us or by a fault.

So the statement above stands exactly as written: we provide storage, we do not provide backup or recovery, and the two are not the same service. Keep your own copy of anything that matters. If a file stored with us is lost, we will not be able to recover it for you, and asking us to will not change that.

You agree to use tools only for lawful purposes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ToolsMonk shall not be liable for:

• Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities
• Costs of procuring substitute services
• Personal injury or property damage
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any errors or omissions in tool outputs
• Any harmful code transmitted through the Platform by third parties

This limitation applies regardless of legal theory and even if ToolsMonk has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

ToolsMonk reserves the right to update this Disclaimer at any time without prior notice. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date.
