Classify readings by ACC/AHA guidelines with MAP, pulse pressure & a BP log.
Loading Blood Pressure Calculator…
One task, zero friction: classify readings by acc/aha guidelines with map, pulse pressure & a bp log. Blood Pressure Calculator runs right in your browser as part of ToolsMonk's medical tools lineup: no installs, no account, and nothing to configure before you start.
Common scenarios include you bought a home cuff and want to know what 137/88 actually means before deciding whether to book an appointment, your doctor asked for two weeks of morning and evening readings and you want the log and the trend in one place, and you are tracking whether a change in diet, exercise or medication is moving your numbers over months rather than days. The browser-based design means you can switch devices mid-task and pick up right where you left off, whether it's a one-time job or part of a daily workflow.
Everything about Blood Pressure Calculator is tuned for speed to first result, with privacy-friendly processing and the rest of ToolsMonk's tools nearby when the next task comes up.

Enter the systolic (upper) and diastolic (lower) numbers from your monitor, by typing them or dragging the sliders
The ACC/AHA category, MAP and pulse pressure update instantly, with your band highlighted on the scale
Read the guidance for your category, which separates lifestyle-first advice from readings that need a clinician now
Press Save to add the reading to your private log, then come back over days or weeks to watch the trend
Classifies any reading by the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline: Normal, Elevated, Stage 1, Stage 2 and Hypertensive Crisis
Calculates Mean Arterial Pressure as diastolic plus one third of the pulse pressure, the perfusion figure used in critical care
Calculates pulse pressure and labels it narrow, normal or wide, which a cuff reading alone does not tell you
Plots your systolic value on a colour-coded scale so you can see how far into a category you sit
Saves readings to a private log in your own browser and charts the systolic trend across entries
Prints a clean one-page report you can take to an appointment
You bought a home cuff and want to know what 137/88 actually means before deciding whether to book an appointment
Your doctor asked for two weeks of morning and evening readings and you want the log and the trend in one place

You want MAP and pulse pressure, which most consumer monitors display neither of
Blood Pressure Calculator was built so that anyone, professional or first-time visitor, gets what the page promises (classify readings by acc/aha guidelines with map, pulse pressure & a bp log) in seconds. Results are instant and accurate, and nothing needs to be installed or signed up for along the way.
All processing runs locally in your browser, so your files and data never leave your device. The interface adapts to any modern browser and screen size, so the Medical Tools workflow you rely on at a desk is the same one you get on a tablet or phone.
Blood pressure is written as two numbers because it describes two moments in every heartbeat. The systolic figure is the peak pressure as the left ventricle contracts and pushes blood into the arteries. The diastolic figure is the lowest pressure, between beats, while the heart refills. Both matter, and the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline classifies a reading by whichever of the two is worse.
That guideline lowered the threshold for hypertension from 140/90 to 130/80, which moved a large number of people into a Stage 1 category overnight. The intent was not to medicate them all: for Stage 1 the guidance is lifestyle change first, with drug treatment added based on overall cardiovascular risk rather than the reading alone. This is why the advice shown for Stage 1 differs in kind from the advice shown for Stage 2.
Two derived numbers deserve more attention than they usually get. Mean arterial pressure estimates the average pressure actually perfusing your organs, weighted toward diastolic because the heart spends more of each cycle relaxed. Pulse pressure, the gap between the two readings, reflects how stiff your large arteries are: it tends to widen with age, and a persistently wide gap carries independent cardiovascular risk. Very few home monitors show either.
The most common mistake in home monitoring is treating one reading as a verdict. Blood pressure moves constantly with posture, temperature, conversation, caffeine, a full bladder, and simply being measured. This is why the log matters more than the calculator: a clinician diagnosing hypertension is reading a pattern across days, not a number from one afternoon.
Everything here runs in your browser and your readings are stored only on your own device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. That said, this is an educational calculator applying published adult thresholds to numbers you type in. It cannot examine you, does not know your history or your medications, and is not a diagnosis. Treatment decisions belong with a clinician.
Record which arm you used and stay with it: a 5 to 10 mmHg difference between arms is common, and switching looks like a change that did not happen
Measure at the same times each day, typically morning before medication and evening, because blood pressure follows a daily rhythm
Discard the first reading of a session if it is much higher than the next two: the first is often raised by the act of measuring
If a reading is above 180/120, wait five minutes and measure again. If it stays that high, seek medical care rather than continuing to log it
