Batch Resize takes a folder of images and brings every one of them to the same target width, then hands the whole set back as a single ZIP. It is built for the job that is tedious one file at a time: preparing dozens or hundreds of photographs for a website, a listing, or an upload form with a size limit.

The one setting that matters is the target width. With the aspect-ratio lock on, height follows automatically, which is what you want for a folder mixing landscape and portrait shots: everything comes out the same width and each image keeps its own proportions. When you need an exact box, turn the lock off and set both numbers, though be aware that forces images into a shape they may not suit.

Resizing down is the safe direction. You are discarding pixels, and the result usually looks crisper than the original did at that size. Resizing up is not: nothing can recover detail that was never captured, so an enlarged image looks soft. If enlargement is what you need, an AI upscaler is the tool for that, not a resizer.

For web work, resizing is also the single most effective way to cut page weight. A modern camera produces images several times wider than any layout will ever display, and serving that full resolution costs a visitor real time on a phone connection. Bringing a folder down to 1600 pixels wide typically removes most of the weight before you touch compression at all.

PNG transparency survives the resize, so a batch of logos or cut-outs stays transparent rather than picking up a white background. The queue can be reordered before processing if the sequence inside the ZIP matters to you.
