AI Summarizer produces a concise summary report from a PDF's content and structure, giving you a quick overview of a long document so you can grasp its gist and decide what deserves a full read.
It analyses the document's text and structure to surface key information and the overall makeup, genuinely useful for skimming reports, articles, and papers where reading every page first would be slow. The aim is orientation: understand the shape and main points quickly, then dive into what matters.
Set expectations appropriately, though: an automated summary is a starting point, not a substitute for careful reading. It surfaces prominent content and structure well but can't always weigh nuance, importance, or context the way a person can, so for anything where accuracy is critical (legal, medical, financial), read the source document and use the summary only to orient yourself.
Text-rich, well-structured PDFs summarise best; scanned image-only documents need OCR PDF run first to have text to analyse. On privacy: your PDF file is never uploaded, it is read and its text extracted in your browser. On the default Cloud AI engine that extracted text is then sent, via our server, to Google's Gemini API to write the summary and is not stored; switch the engine to On-device AI and nothing leaves your device at all, which is the setting to use for confidential documents. Either way there is no limit. Pair it with PDF to Text and the other ToolsMonk PDF tools.
Use the summary to orient yourself and decide what to read fully, not as a replacement for the source
For critical (legal/medical/financial) content, always read the original document
