String Escape and Unescape converts text into a form that is safe to place inside a particular language or format, and back again. It supports JSON, JavaScript, HTML, URL, CSV, SQL, regular expressions, shell commands and Unicode escapes, each with its own correct rules.
Those rules genuinely differ. CSV doubles quote characters, SQL doubles single quotes, a regular expression needs its metacharacters escaped, and HTML replaces characters like < and & with entities. Using the wrong rule is how a value breaks a query or an import, so pick the target first. Unicode mode understands \uXXXX, \xXX and \u{...} forms.

For SQL, escaping a string is a convenience for one-off queries; real application code should still use parameterised queries. Everything runs locally in your browser, which matters when the string is a password, a token or a piece of customer data.
