GST Calculator adds GST to a base price or extracts it from a GST-inclusive amount, showing the base, the tax, and the total separately so your pricing and invoicing are correct.

Adding GST is straightforward — apply the rate and add it on. The part people get wrong is removing it. The GST was added to the smaller base, not the larger total, so to reverse it you divide the inclusive amount by (1 + rate), not subtract the percentage. Subtracting 18% from an inclusive total removes too much; the calculator's 'remove GST' mode uses the correct division.
