Discount Calculator works out the final price and the amount you save from an original price and a percentage off, and runs in reverse to tell you what percentage discount a sale price represents. It turns the mental maths of shopping and pricing into instant, accurate answers.

The core formulas are simple but easy to slip on: the amount off is the original price times the percentage over 100, and the discount percentage is the saving divided by the original price, times 100. Having both directions in one tool means you can both compute a sale price and verify an advertised 'X% off' claim.

A common trap the calculator helps you avoid is stacked discounts. Successive reductions apply one after another rather than summing, 20% then 10% off lands at 28% off, not 30%, because the second discount comes off the already-lowered price. Calculating them in sequence gives the true total.

Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. Remember that tax is normally applied to the discounted price, so add your local rate to the final figure for the amount you'll actually pay at the till.
